  2. First of all thanks for your models and your help in youtube, I saw your animation video, I saw also you were using after effects or Combustion, I will take combustion next month, it looks very interesting software, well thanks again and please I would apreciate if you could send me the bip files I asked you for a fight also, my mail is martinet135@yahoo.com.ar or if you prefer here in your forum and I could download them... thanks again...

    http://rapidshare.com/files/257918469/Te_kwon_do_blue_fighter.rar

maybe you can use the animation to learn some tricks or finish it yourself...
btw i didn't use any other program than max!

  4. thank you very much, I'll use it right now, I am also using just max, now I am studying reactor, kind of heavy, hope you can help me with your knowledge in that area, whatever thing you need just let me know... keep in touch...
    thanks again

  5. Amazing test, but I hope you can help me later, I can make animation for one character or biped, but the interactios between two seems kind of difficult, however thanks very much...

  6. Sure, I will help you !
I made this improvised forum for questions, requests and such things !
And if I need to go more into detail I'll make a tutorial on my other blog (link in the sidebar)!

  7. thanks a lot, a just check your file, it was awesome, all what you create, hope you can make a tutorial (you could use the "Camtasia" program), and maybe you could show how to work very well with the mixer in bipeds, I am trying to understand it very well, and also make one wehere you can explain how you use those particles and with the reactor, they were awesome... of course if you have the time and the mood to do it, still you don't I really appreciate the help you gave me so far...

    thanks

  8. Hello my friend, do you use also Poser7?, it's models are excellents!!, not compatible with 3ds max, but still...

    Martin

  9. No I don't use poser, there is a way to use poser models in max (with a program)! It's called maxfusion or poserfusion (I'm not sure), but the very detailed models are not optimized for max so you better have a strong machine!!!

  10. thanks bro, that's good, but the models has a lot of polygons... but is interesting maybe I can use Vray on my models now (just like artist), however I want to be an animator.. I am practicing a lot with the bipeds, and I continue working in my animation... for my institute... hope you can prepare your tutorial as soon as you can... ragdoll sounds good... I was planning to make may model and create with the box and cilynders like a shield and then hide them and put them "rigid body" to make the effect of collision, but ragdoll sounds much better... however is very hard because the calculations with reactor take a lot of time... still... please keep in touch and thanks a lot...

    ReplyDelete
  11. by the way, could you tell me if you use after effects or combustion to give that extra "effetc" to your work... thanks

    ReplyDelete
  12. No I don't use anything else besides max and photoshop. Max is a great software you can do almost everything in it ! And its (in my opinion) the best tool for animations !
One of my external hard disks crashed (overheated) with all the work i have from max! So I have to recover all the lost files !
But I hope it wont take long and I can finish a tutorial for you !?

    ReplyDelete
  13. thanks bro, hope to see that tutorial, I am just learning how to work with two models, with character, but unfortunately I just know basic steps, I am preparing my bipeds, to use the mixer, I hope the interaction looks nice as you did, if you need some help, I have some plugins, or bip files, not so good as yours but still... unfortunately I work more with poser 7, just now I started to learn 3ds max, for real animators, poser is good but 3ds max, is incredible... waiting for you, hope you recover... we keep in touch...

  15. Hello, my friend, just to say hello, I am still advancing in my bipeds (kind of hard work, hehe), and now we are touching combustion, hope is useful, I learnt something about reactor, but I still want to see your tutorial of your work with the bipeds and reactor you did, of course when you have the time... hoping you are ok, thanks.

  16. Thanks Rich!

    Hi Martin,
I don't like it when I have to break a promise but it's like this:
I couldn't recover any of the files, I lost almost every file for max that I had.
And I started working recently, maybe you noticed that I didn't post any new models in a long time.
So until I have some time to spare I won't be able to make a tutorial.

But when I get the time I will post a bunch of new models and some tutorials :)

  17. sorry, i put this post in a wrong place, rewrite it here.

"many many thanks for your characters.
    i like to animate them.
but some of them, my max 2008 does not open: message -file open failed-.

    for example:
the files are -masha-, and -maxine, and others...
in -faith pack- there are two files,
    1) -faith- open with a texture partial on the character. 2) -faithmap- does not open.

may be some files for max2009?
thanks again (i can not make a rig of a character ;) ).

  18. hello bro, no problem, I know, it's a pain in the ass when something like that happens, my hard drive also broke few months ago, fortunately the technician could help me to recover my data before it completely die... but don't worry take your time... let me know if you need information or data... by the way, where are you from?... see you later my friend...

  19. Hallo arsya
Yes, most of the files are for version 2009.
It's a shame autodesk didn't optimise the file format to be able to open in both newer and older versions of max.
P.S. you put the post in the right place!:)

    Hey Martin
I'm from Croatia (Europe), so it's kind of hard to find any work and if then it's a low paying job like I'm doing right now.
Hmm I didn't even hear that anywhere near me a data recovery service is offered, but I'm aware that such a service exists somewhere, lol.
I downloaded some free recovery tools but with no success. Thanks for understanding !

    ReplyDelete
  20. thanks kozby for your reply.
    this autodesk... >:\

if you have the possibility in the future upload character rig for max 2008, i very much appreciate.

    thanks again for your work.

  21. hope you get success in your recovery data... by the way I wrote you an email, hope you get it...,
I also still advancing my animation, soon I finish it I'll upload in youtube and hope is good hehe... well my friend I'll keep in contact, and thanks again... good luck

  22. Hi there Kozby!

Do you have (or does anybody has) sample codes in C/C++ and OpenGL so that I can load and animate the rigged character?

    Thanks in advance!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hey Raven
Sorry but i don't have any codes for max (I dont' use them).
If you want to use a game engine I recommend "UNITY 3D" ,the max file format is integrated into it.
The only thing you have to do is to copy the max file and textures into your unity folder.
I hope somebody else can help you.

btw. I have NO programming skills... lol

  25. Hello Kozby, just to say hello, here advancing my fight, I want to finish it soon to start another projectss, now I am studying bipeds in my institute, hope I can understand very well that topic, it looks very funny, giving the movements to the biped... I am working now, but I will go out to make some sport... see you around my friend... so how was with your computer, could you fix it?...

  26. Hi everybody
Hi Martinez, I couldn't find anything to convert 9 to 8. You could try to download a newer demo of 3dsmax and try to export the files as 3ds. but the bones will be lost.

Hello Martin, I recovered some files with a program called: GetDataBack ,but I lost a lot of good work.
    P.S.
I will finally finish my work this month so everybody can expect new models to be uploaded soon.

    ReplyDelete
  27. tnk Kozby.
3ds is not a good model without bones for my.
but the demo of 3dsmax is a good idea.
know you if collada export file in max2009 is compatible with collada max old version?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hello Kozby, glad you could recover some data, hope also see your wonderful work in animation, and don't forget about an small tutorial, I would like to follow your steps to create an animation like you did... just if you have time... thanks again... and keep going...

    Martin

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi everybody
Martinez, as far as I know collada export is compatible with the old versions as well, but I didn't test it myself.

Hi Martin, from now on I will upload more new models, and yes of course I will do the tutorial. It will take some time because it's hard to explain all steps done in an animation, but you can expect it in a couple of days.

    ReplyDelete
  30. that sounds great man, thanks, I'll be waiting for that, biped together with reactor can make a great stuff... hope to see your tutorial soon, take your time... thanks again

  31. Hey martin, I need to make a few tutorials to show some tricks and you will get the animation video recorded as I work in max, but for now I give a file with some basic punches I made with a biped. So you can analyze the movement it's nothing special but it will be useful to see how it works!
    here's the file:

  32. thanks bro, it's very nice your boxing biped, I saw a lot of bip files around here, they are so useful... by the way I finished my animation, not so big deal, but I would like to ask you... I compress it in quicktime (mov file) but is like 600 megas, it's too much, I can't upload it, it's too big, could you recomend me a good compressor but I don't want to lose too much quality in the video...
I was working with adoeb premiere pro 2.0... the video is also with audio... thanks in advance for any advice...

    Martin

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi Marin,
My software for compression is Virtual Dub, it's free, easy to use and fits my needs.
I use a Xvid MPEG-4 codec format to compress my videos and a MPEG Layer-3 at 40 kBit/s 24000 Hz for the audio.
You can adjust the quality and you could also pack it with winrar which will compress it additionally.

    ReplyDelete
  34. thanks Kozby, I have a question regarding to that, my uncompressed video and uncompressed audio is like 10 gigas just like 4 minutes average, when I said 600 megas it's because I used another compressor... I want to compress and upload it in youtube as you made with yours, that compress that you gave me will be useful for me to upload it in youtube also?, thanks...

    Martin

    ReplyDelete
  35. WOW 10Gb thats a lot.
I hope it will compress it enough for youtube, would love to see the animation you did.
You should configure your video profile level to use advanced simple @ L5 ,encoding type single pass, and experiment with the quality settings. Set the audio to full processing mode.
To be honest I don't know how much you will compress the file but I think it will be enough to upload it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Kozby, I posted already, it's my first upload so the quality was not so good, but well... please check it, check the credits, I put your name in "special thanks"...

    here is the link...

give me a comment, hehehe... and please don't forget your tutorial...

    see ya

  37. hey bro!, thanks for the comment, I'll continue practicing more, biped is a great help for fast body... maybe I need to buy a powerful machine... hope also to see more of your work soon... thanks again

    Martin

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi, no problem, the animation was great.
I wish I had some more fantasy for story telling like when I was younger, I think you captured the scene very well.
Nah, you don't need a powerful machine to do some cool animations but if you have the cash to spare go for it.
I have a laptop which sucks (that's why I don't use any characters). If I animate a high poly character I mostly abandon the scene because of the stuttering and slow down.
Right now I work on two animations, one of them is the sword fight(posted a preview) and another one is a sniper scene,
    Hope i'll finish it soon...

  39. Hi Kozby,
Just wanted to say thanks for the models, theyre perfect for modeling phobes like myself :P two questions, if you could be bothered, do u think u could get some COD4 Characters up for download and the second question is could u put up some terrains or areas, something like that because I can animate but without a scene its kind of plain :P
    anyway thanks for your time.

  40. Hello and welcome, I could try to extract the cod4 models out of the game but I don't know if it's possible, can't promise anything but I'll try. Yea I will upload some environments , I have only a few scenes but you could mix them together to get a detailed environment.

  44. Hi everybody,
Jam I tried to find a way to convert cod4 chars but I had no success, sorry!
Ryan I don't have a spiderman model rigged, but I post one if I find one!

Hey Martin, I've done some research in the last time and came across a way to export poser and daz3d models fully rigged with textures into 3ds max sooo... new models are coming!
Best luck for the job :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Kozby
dont worry about it. any luck with the enviroments

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hey Kozby. Great job on the L4D models. Please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but did you import the models and textures right out of the game or did you make them from scratch? I'm an animator and know very little of modeling and rigging.

In any case, I'm making a short L4D fan film/sketch and was wondering if I may use your models. If you like I can of course credit them to you.

    Thanks,
    Killi

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi Killi,
the models are extracted from the game !
Feel free to use any of my models in your animation, no credit needed !
I also love animations , it's the most fun !

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks!

If you don't mind my asking, was it difficult to extract them? I've been playing around in the SDK Face Poser and it would be great to know how to export meshes to make facial morph targets, if it's possible.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I found something like a tutorial in a forum !
So it wasn't realy hard to extract the models,
I didn't work in the SDK Faceposer but I'm sure that it can be extracted aswell but I don't know how to extract only the face morphs!

The next models I post will be from DAZ3D and Poser with face morphs and some bodymorphs!
But it seems that I can't export the clothe correctly, the bones get all messed up !

  58. Could you help me? ive so far imported tf2 models into 3d max and is having problems with putting the materials on them
